Generic "you may also like" widgets are easy to ignore. Conversational recommendations feel like advice from a friend.
Recommendations work when they feel relevant. In a conversation, the shopper tells you what they need, so the assistant can suggest products that truly fit.
Start from intent
"A gift for my mom under 500k" says much more than a page view. Use the shopper's own words to filter by occasion, budget and style.
The best recommendation is the one that answers what the customer just asked for.
Combine intent with behaviour
Items already in the cart and recently viewed products help the assistant suggest matching accessories and complete-the-look bundles.
- Show two or three options, not twenty
- Always recommend in-stock items
- Explain why each product is a good match
Keep control of your merchandising
Set rules to promote new arrivals, clear seasonal stock or highlight high-margin products, while the AI keeps every suggestion relevant.
